Description
HeliCoil thread plug gauges are used to check for the accuracy of holes tapped with HeliCoil taps. Once the holes are gauged to be correct, HeliCoil inserts can be installed and used. It is incorrect to gauge the threads AFTER HeliCoil inserts have been installed. Go gauges may not enter.
HeliCoil threads have a tolerance of 6H mod as per DIN 8140 Part 2 standard. 6H mod has the same precision as the tolerance 5H. After assembly of HeliCoil thread inserts, the completed ISO thread has a tolerance of 6H.
